Statement of Thomas F. Farr Former Director, Office of International Religious
Freedom U.S. Department of State Committee on House International Relations
December 21, 2006 Thomas F. Farr Mr. Chairman and members of the committee,
I want to thank each of you for your work on behalf of human rights, and
for the opportunity to give testimony today. Let me begin with a brief
tribute to the outgoing sub-committee chairman, Mr. Smith, whom I first
met when I joined the office of international religious freedom in 1999.
Chris Smith has been an inspiration to me and to countless others who work
