In "Fast Food Nation" he tells the story of some unsettling truths behind the fast food industry. The film begins with a shot of smiling, happy families at a fast food joint. It then zooms in closer on a hamburger patty, which becomes increasingly less appetizing.
The film follows the lives of three groups of people, with each story addressing a different issue in the food chain of the fast food industry.
