`Rule of law will suffer if officers can't do their job'
Edition: Main/Lifestyle
Section: Main Section
KLANG: When government officers are prevented from carrying out their duty and are beaten up and receive death threats, one has to ask "who's in charge?"
"If an officer cannot discharge his duties due to powerful syndicates that resort to violence, the rule of law will suffer," said Klang member of parliament Datin Paduka Tan Yee Kew.
She was commenting on the recent attack on the Klang Municipal Council health director and the death threat he received.
She said mob rule cannot be tolerated and action must be taken against the perpetrators.
