THE cinema has come home - DVDs have enabled consumers to have an immersive cinema experience right in the comfort of the home. But even before we can get really comfortable, we have the DVD's successors, Blu- ray and HD DVD.

Blu-ray and HD DVD are competing technologies for the next generation of high-definition digital audio and video discs. Both are based on blue laser, which has the capability of reading more data from a disc compared to a plain DVD.
