Article: Anti-smoking ads may increase teen useage

(OSU Daily Barometer) (U-WIRE) CORVALLIS, Ore. -- A study recently published in the American Journal of Public Health has shown signs that tobacco company-sponsored anti-smoking ads may actually lead to an increase in teen smoking.

Brian Flay, a professor of Public Health at Oregon State University is one of nine researchers involved in the Wakefield study. A study done by Bridging the Gap, a research group based out of the Universities of Illinois at Chicago and

the Univeristy of Michigan to research the impact of tobacco company-sponsored advertisements on teens in the eighth, 10th and 12th grades for the past 10 years.
