DC - Ranking Republican Ralph Hall (R-TX) today voted against HR 6, The
Clean Energy Act of 2007, arguing that it will not help advance America's
energy independence. "While I would like to believe that we all have the
same goal of creating energy independence for our country, I regret that
this bill before us today will not lead us to that goal," Hall said during
floor debate today. "This is just an initial attack on an industry that
survived the windfall profit tax that proved to be a Jimmy Carter disaster.
