THE war-torn capital of Vietnam the 1970s is fast emerging as a top tourist destination. TAN CHOE CHOE takes a stroll through Hanoi.

WHEN my editor summoned me to his room and cryptically asked "What do you think of Vietnam?", the image that immediately came to mind was a Miss la Saigon, the musical.
The ones that followed were not much better, inspired as they were by the film, Good Morning Vietnam, that launched Robin Williams's career in the early 1980s. The light-hearted comedy featured the years during the height of the bitter Vietnam War.
