Knicks' James is easing into a new role

GREENBURGH, N.Y. Jerome James appreciated what Isiah Thomas did for him Saturday night. Not only did Thomas start James for just the second time this season, he also knew when to remove him.
James recalled that when the Knicks' president/coach asked him how he felt during the Orlando game, James told Thomas he could play "about three more minutes. [Thomas] said, 'I'll get you out.' He's cognizant of the foot problems that I have."
