Eschelon Telecom, a provider of integrated communications services to small and medium sized businesses in the western United States, announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire United Communications, which does business as Unicom, a privately-held competitive services provider headquartered in Bend, Oregon. Eschelon will pay approximately $13.9 million in cash to acquire Unicom.
