Article: West Virginia U. students have health care readily available

(The Daily Athenaeum) (U-WIRE) MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Students at West Virginia University have many options available to them through Student Health Services and the Family Planning Program.

Each student already pays a $64-per-semester fee. Students would be well-advised to take advantage of this prepaid health plan, said Jan Palmer, director of SHS.

"It's already paid for, whether students take advantage of it or not," he said.

The Family Planning Program at SHS includes STD testing, an annual exam, a physical, a pap smear, cultures for STDs and free birth control, Palmer said.

There is a $30 annual fee for gynecological exams and a one-time $20 fee ...
