NSW: Polls close in the state election
SYDNEY, March 24 AAP - The votes have been cast and counting is just about to get underway
in the NSW state election.
About 4.3 million NSW voters had until 6pm (AEDT) today to cast their ballot at one
of the 2,400 polling booths across the state.
Despite predictions of a convincing victory, Premier Morris Iemma said there was still
a chance Labor could lose.
"It's a possibility, it's a possibility, of course," Mr Iemma said.
Accompanied by his wife Santina, a relaxed and confident-looking Mr Iemma cast his
vote near his home at Beverley Hills in his seat of Lakemba, in south-west Sydney.
