U. Oregon students help save a drowning man

(Oregon Daily Emerald) (U-WIRE) EUGENE, Ore. -- The Sunday before spring term began, four University of Oregon students went out to the Umpqua Hot Springs. The relaxing evening quickly changed course when two drunken men showed up and one, an ex-Marine, fell into the strong rapids of the river, sweeping him 75 feet downstream in less than 10 seconds. One student jumped into the freezing water at the strongest point of the current, risking his own life to save another's.
