MESDAQ-listed StemLife Bhd and Berjaya Sompo Insurance Bhd have started offering "StemGuard", a medical insurance policy to cover hospital and surgical expenses arising from stem cell transplants that use baby cord blood.

Cord blood stem cells are "master" cells that can replace diseased cells in a patient with healthy cells through stem cell transplantation.
In a joint-statement released yesterday, StemLife and Berjaya Sompo said StemGuard's coverage encompasses transplants for over 70 types of illnesses, should a StemLife client be diagnosed with any of those ...
