Don Imus and the Rutgers University women's basketball team met privately Thursday night, hours after CBS fired the radio host for making denigrating remarks about the Scarlet Knight players.

The team's coach, C. Vivian Stringer, said the athletes and their families had "a very productive meeting" with Imus. She offered no other details, promising to release a statement today.
