Article: Ball State travels to take on Notre Dame

(Daily News) (CSTV U-WIRE) MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State University baseball team hits the road Tuesday to play a non-conference game in South Bend, Ind.

The Cardinals play the University of Notre Dame Tuesday and then take a two-day break before resuming the Mid-American Conference portion of their schedule.

The Fighting Irish are 21-18 on the season, including 12-5 at home. Meanwhile, the Cardinals are 15-24 and 7-12 on the road.

Notre Dame is led by Brett Lilley offensively. Lilley has a .371 batting average in 39 games and has scored 41 runs on the season. Overall the Irish are hitting .289, 24 points above Ball State's season average of .265.
