(Daily Trojan) (U-WIRE) LOS ANGELES -- To address the problems that bother the Daily Trojan - problems that have persisted for years despite capable leadership - one must identify the quality that defines great newspapers: prestige.
The quality of reporting and editing places the paper in the top echelon of the country, so the paper's organization and its identity can be identified as the primary causes for its good - but inadequate - reputation. Many point to past mistakes and minor errors as the reason. But these influences have diminished roles in determining the paper's reputation when compared to the problems caused by infrastructure.
