Crik: Why neutral umpires are endangering cricket

SYDNEY, May 1 AAP - The debacle of the cricket World Cup's moonlight finale could have
been avoided if the best umpires had been officiating.
It's hard to believe Simon Taufel, widely acknowledged as the finest in the world,
would have been panicked into making the same errors as Aleem Dar, Steve Bucknor and Rudi
Koertzen.
Neither perhaps would Daryl Harper, nor the ICC's chief match referee Ranjun Madugalle.
But none of them were employed to control the game's showpiece because they weren't "neutral".
