Q: I'm 52 years old and have been suffering from bad breath for some time. My teeth are in good condition.

Please advise.
A: Bad breath can have many causes. It can result from the inflammation of the gums, infection or ulceration of the mouth and tongue, indigestion and too much of unfriendly bacteria in the colon. Smoking also increases the risk of nasal and sinus infections, which may cause bad breath. Bad breath sometimes is also a symptom of an underlying disease.
