Fed: Employed indigenous women likely to have better health
By Susanna Dunkerley
CANBERRA, May 14 AAP - Less than half of all indigenous women rate their health as
very good, according to new statistics.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics figures reinforce concerns about the health of
Aboriginal women compared to other Australian women.
The new report, focusing on the health, exposure to violence and general wellbeing
of indigenous women in Australia, shows that just 40 per cent of indigenous women rate
their health as excellent or very good.
It finds 26 per cent rate their health as fair to poor and 35 per cent rate their health
in between.
