China's Consumer Goods Retail Sales up 15.5 in Apr.

BEIJING, May 17, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China's retail sales of consumer goods reached CNY 667.3 billion in April 2007, up 15.5 year on year.

In terms of area, the retail sales of consumer goods in urban area reached CNY 452.2 billion, rising 16.0, and the amount in counties, towns, and villages hit CNY 215.1 billion, climbing 14.6.

Judging from industries, the retail sales of the wholesale and retail industry amounted to CNY 566 billion, increasing 15.3, that of the accommodation and catering trade industry, CNY 89.7 billion, growing 18.4, and that of other industries, CNY 11.6 billion, hiking 8.2.
