Mot: Gronholm wins Rally of Sardinia after Loeb crashes

OLBIA, Italy, May 20 AFP - Ford's Marcus Gronholm won the Rally of Sardinia today after
defending triple world champion Sebastien Loeb of France crashed out.

The Finn, himself twice a world champion in 2000 and 2002, finished 29.2sec ahead of
compatriot and fellow Ford driver Mikko Hirvonen, with Spain's Dani Sordo a further 56sec
adrift in a Citroen in the seventh event of the World Rally Championships calendar.

Loeb was leading until his Citroen spun into a ditch on today's first stage, forcing
him to retire, and he lost his lead at the top of the drivers' overall standings to Gronholm.
