Portland Sea Dogs right fielder Cory Keylor slipped and the ball bounced past him. Michael Garciaparra raced around the bases for a triple, and the Reading Phillies had the tying run on third base with no outs in the seventh inning.
Garciaparra stayed put, however, as Portland reliever Chris Smith followed the lead of his teammates by coming up with a timely performance.
