Quest Diagnostics Inc., provider of diagnostic testing equipment, said it plans to complete its previously announced acquisition of AmeriPath Inc. The waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act expired Tuesday.
Quest agreed to buy closely held AmeriPath in April for $2 billion in cash and debt to add revenue and gain sophisticated tissue screening for cancer, genetic disorders and infectious diseases.
