(The California Aggie) (U-WIRE) DAVIS, Calif. -- How much is too much body fat? It would seem easy to declare a tall man with a large belly shape as having too much body fat, and an athletic wrestler as having very little. According to the Body Mass Index, or BMI, only one's height and weight are taken into account, not direct body fat. The taller, large-bellied male may end up with a lower BMI than the wrestler, who is shorter. But in your own gut, who would you really think has a healthier body fat?

To calculate the BMI, just take weight in pounds and divide by height in inches, squared. Then multiply it by 703.
