Then the log blinks, drawing attention to its glassy eyes. Its tail arcs gracefully, leaving ripples in the wake of its massive body.
The tables have turned and the alligator, known for taking down its victims with intimidating force, has become the prey. At 10 a.m. Tuesday, about 4,500 Florida alligator hunting permits went on sale.
Wednesday at 2 p.m., the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission had 448 permits remaining.
