(Daily Trojan) (U-WIRE) LOS ANGELES -- University of Southern California alumnus and former Daily Trojan editor Richard Ramirez was found dead at his Livermore, Calif. home June 20. He was 44.

A fervent Trojan fan and driven journalist, Ramirez was known for his passion, professionalism and strong news judgment, friends and colleagues said.

Ramirez, who is survived by his wife, Janet Dalke, worked as assistant to the executive editor at the San Jose Mercury News at the time of his death. He began his 23-year career at the paper as an intern in 1984, soon after ending his tenure as Daily Trojan editor in chief and graduating from USC ...
