WA: Cold case review catches alleged sex offender

PERTH, July 4 AAP - A cold case review of a 2004 sexual assault has led to the charging
of a 21-year-old Perth man.

West Australian Police have credited the newly formed sex assault squad with the breakthrough.

They used improved new DNA analysis and witness interviews to charge the man with the
sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman at Scarborough Beach on December 12, 2004.

She was with a group of friends who befriended three men at the beach car park.
