Base: Japan's Ichiro powers AL to All-Star victory
SAN FRANCISCO, California, July 10 AFP - Japan's Ichiro Suzuki blasted the first inside-the-park
home run in All-Star game history to lead the American League to a 5-4 win over the National
League today.
Carl Crawford and Victor Martinez hit balls over the fence in front of a crowd of 43,965
at the San Francisco ball park by the sea.
San Francisco slugger Barry Bonds failed to get a hit as the aspiring Major League
Baseball home-run king flied out to shallow right in the first inning and to the warning
track in left in the third.
