SA: Democrats to try to change SA terror laws

ADELAIDE, July 23 AAP - The Australian Democrats want to change South Australia's terror
laws to make them subject to parliamentary scrutiny.

South Australian Democrat MP Sandra Kanck said her amendments to the Preventative Detention
Act would force the government to provide details to parliament on when and how it enacts
its anti-terrorism powers.

Under its new terror legislation, people suspected of terrorism related offences can
be held for up to 14 days before being charged.
