Fed: Dr Haneef on his way back to India

BRISBANE, July 29 AAP - Indian doctor Mohamed Haneef has left Australia after a terrorism-related
charge against him was dropped, and he's expected to arrive back in India tomorrow to
be reunited with his family.

The Gold Coast-based doctor left Brisbane on a Thai Airways flight shortly after midnight,
on his way to Bangalore via Bangkok.

He was accompanied by his wife's cousin Imran Siddiqui, who flew to Australia last
week to support his relative, and his lawyer Peter Russo.

While Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews gave the go-ahead for Dr Haneef to return
to India, he refused to reinstate the doctor's ...
