Statement of Donald M. Kerr Nominee for the Position Principal Deputy Director
National Intelligence Committee on Senate Select Intelligence August 01,
2007 Mr. Chairman, Members of the Committee, I am pleased to appear before
you to discuss my credentials as the nominee for Principal Deputy Director
of National Intelligence--the PDDNI. Indeed, it is an honor to be asked,
and if confirmed it will be a privilege to serve. In discussions with the
Director of National Intelligence (DNI)--McConnell, we agree that the role
of the PDDNI is analogous to that of the chief operating officer of a public
