Li Ning, a Chinese sportswear retailer endorsed by the American basketball player Shaquille O'Neal, will open more stores and increase marketing to tap demand in the run-up to the Beijing Olympics next year. A shoe-design center in the United States is among the targets of a second-half increase in investment as the company seeks to step up brand quality and research, Guo Jianxin, Li Ning's chief operation officer said Monday during an interview in Beijing.
