(The Post) (U-WIRE) ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University officials are hoping more alumni will reach deeper and more often into their pockets to improve the university's position among Mid-American Conference schools.
OU's fundraising programs currently rank sixth among 12 other MAC universities between 2001 and 2006, raising $15.2 million a year on average.
Howard Lipman, vice president for University Advancement, said he hopes to increase the average of yearly incoming philanthropic money from $15.2 million to between $30-40 million by 2012 -- an annual increase of 13.5 percent -- as part of the Five-Year Academic Action Plan.
