GOLD COAST, Nov 1 AAP - Party town, retirement village, graveyard - Titans NRL club
boss Michael Searle has heard all the jibes about the Gold Coast sporting scene.

The Gold Coast has long been regarded as a city where young athletes risk running off
the rails amid the trappings of glitz and glamour.

Another popular perception has been that top sportsmen will go to a Gold Coast club
only as an easy way of topping up their retirement fund or to take a working holiday in
a business sure to go bust.
