FED: Newhouse says legal advice puts his candidacy in clear = 2
Mr Newhouse sought to clarify the legal statute which he said indicated the validity
of his candidacy.
"The advice is very clear. It unequivocally states that under the Consumer Trader and
Tenancy Act, upon nominating I automatically resigned as a member of the tribunal - and
that's that," he said.
Mr Newhouse denied suggestions he had been in hiding since the allegations first came
to light on Wednesday.
"Absolutely not," he said. "Here I am, you're talking to me now."
