(The Yale Herald) (U-WIRE) NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Margot at the Wedding, the latest from auteur Noah Baumbach, begs to be called "real." But ceci n'est pas real life, and therein lies the problem.
Baumbach made a name for himself with 2006's The Squid and the Whale, a tale of a crumbling family in the eighties in Brooklyn. Squid was real. The quirks, the awkward moments, and, above all, the clear depth of emotion accomplished that goal with flying colors. The film was electrifying because it was recognizable.
