WA: Sir Charles Court leaves behind him mammoth legacy

PERTH, Dec 23 AAP - Western Australia has lost a visionary politician and the forefather
of its resources development with the death of Sir Charles Court at the age of 96.
Born on September 29, 1911, in England, he moved to Australia with his parents shortly
after his birth.
The son of a unionist plumber, Sir Charles aspired to study law but his parents could
not afford the university fees.
So while working as a newspaper delivery boy he studied accounting at night school.
In the depths of the Great Depression in 1933, Sir Charles opened his own accountancy
business ...
