Spo: Four times the pain in NZ sporting year to forget

WELLINGTON, NZPA - From Cardiff to Kingston. From Valencia to Auckland.
The venue mattered not, it was a year of great disappointment for New Zealand's most
coveted sports on their biggest stages.
Hopes were high as the Black Caps, Team New Zealand, All Blacks and Silver Ferns set
out in pursuit of their respective holy grails.
Some pundits even dared suggest a blackwash.
Those same people can now be found huddled in dark caves, haunted by visions of English
referees, Swiss millionaires and green and gold bibs.
The return?
Two finals, one semi-final and one, er, ...
