The Portland Pirates ended 2007 by turning in one of their strongest defensive performances of the season Monday.
Mike McKenna, making his first start in more than two weeks, posted his first AHL shutout and Simon Ferguson scored his first goal of the season to spark the Pirates to a 3-0 victory over the Lowell Devils before 6,025 fans at the Cumberland County Civic Center.
