JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, Jan. 7, 2008 (IPS/GIN) -- Sikhumbuzo
was only 18 when he left Zimbabwe for South Africa. He managed to
find a job and now sends home close to $150 a month in cash and
goods.
The immigrant, whose name has been changed to protect his
safety, is now 25 and helps to support not only his mother and
sister in Bulawayo but also his aunts, uncles and cousins.
Hundreds of thousands of others are also in Sikhumbuzo's
position, and the influx of Zimbabweans to South Africa has shown
no signs of diminishing, especially given Zimbabwe's deepening
