KUALA LUMPUR: Another panic-buying by consumers, this time for general purpose flour, was attributed as the main cause for the shortage of the product in the last couple of weeks.
FFM Bhd divisional manager (flour) Philip Liew said millers are able to supply enough general purpose (GP) flour for local consumption.
"As far as we are concerned, demand is being met. What is causing the shortage is the panic-buying. If before, households bought 1kg to stock, now they want to stock up on 5kg.
