(Daily Mississippian) (UWIRE) OXFORD, Miss. -- It has been my contention over the last few weeks that every man and woman running for president -- even Mike Gravel -- had, despite each of their flaws, enough amber waves of executive fortitude to lead the land of the free and the home of the brave.
But, over winter break, two things happened.
First, six presidential aspirants -- Democrats Joe Biden, Chris Dodd, Mike Gravel and Bill Richardson and Republicans Tom Tancred and Duncan Hunter -- decided they did not have the purple mountains of money necessary to continue their bids.
