Wrest: Australian wrestling "on the brink" - former official

BRISBANE, Jan 18 AAP - A former key Australian Wrestling Union (AWU) official says
he fears for the sport's future in this country after falling out with the national body
just months before the Beijing Games.

Former AWU high performance manager Shawn Willis says Australian wrestling is "on the brink".

Willis has resigned and secretary Cheryl Bollard has walked away in the countdown to
Beijing after butting heads with the AWU board.

The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) says it is "looking at issues" in the sport
as it assesses a new funding agreement with wrestling.
