(Kansas State Collegian) (UWIRE) MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Kansas State University might be one step closer to becoming the home of a new federal biosecurity facility.
This week, bioscience researchers from across the state met at the Statehouse in support of research initiatives at Kansas Bioscience Day. The two-day event served as a stepping stone for a new $2.5 million research initiative for K-State's Biosecurity Research Institute, according to the Kansas Bioscience Authority.
According to the KBA, it launched the campaign for the plan, which would strengthen the university's research capabilities in addressing threats to the nation's food supply.
