Consumers expect to pay more at the pump when gasoline prices go up.

But with prices up more than 35 percent in the last year, you don't have to drive a car to feel the impact of higher prices for gasoline.

That's because many different businesses from florists to trash haulers are adding surcharges or raising their prices to reflect their higher costs, as they have during other gas price spikes.
