Dressed in woolly layers of scarlet and black, Liza Minnelli did her best to whip up excitement at the revival of the brand of her dear friend, the late Roy Halston Frowick.
"It's Halston vintage 1975 - and I think it is great to celebrate the first designer who put American fashion on the map," said Minnelli, referring to the impact of the sleek, streamlined, minimalist clothes on fussy French fashion at a show at Versailles in the 1960s.
