(The Daily Reveille) (UWIRE) BATON ROUGE, La. -- Sorry, Mitt. It seems Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has replaced you as the alternative to Arizona's Sen. John McCain in the Republican primaries.
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who withdrew from the Republican primaries race Thursday, won seven states on Super Duper Tuesday, two more than Huckabee. Romney also won 179 delegates, compared with 154 for Huckabee.
But let's face it: both of these guys were running for second place behind John McCain. McCain established himself as the clear frontrunner in the Republican primaries.
Until Feb. 5, everyone thought Romney was the clear alternative to McCain ...
