12, 2008 What is growth hormone? Human growth hormone or hGH is produced
by a pea-sized endocrine gland near the base of the brain called the pituitary
gland. Its primary utility relates to growth in the height of children.
Deficiency in adults HGH levels gradually decline in adults with minimal
or no negative health consequences for the vast majority of the population.
