ZTE Denied Acquisition of Motorola Mobile Phone Business

SHENZHEN, Feb 19, 2008 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Chinese telecommunications equipment provider ZTE Corporation (SEHK: 0763 and SZSE: 000063) denied the rumor on its coming acquisition of the mobile phone business under Motorola Incorporation, one of the largest mobile phone makers in the world.

Previously, ZTE was said to take over Motorola's mobile phone business. But the company is only in talks with Motorola for a wider cooperation and no decision has been made, said Xiong Hui, ZTE's marketing vice president for handsets.
