Fed: Aussie Parmesan cheese industry to stay buoyant: expert

MELBOURNE, Feb 27 AAP/AP - Parmesan cheese sales in Australia are unlikely to be affected
by a European court ruling that only crumbly cheese made near the Italian city of Parma
can use the name, a cheese industry expert says.
Australian Specialist Cheesemakers' Association president David Brown said the buoyant
cheese market was not expected to take a hit and most people would still call the popular
hard, grating cheese "Parmesan".
"There are some very good Australian parmesans made and they're recognised locally
as what they are and that's Australian hard grating ...
